Our wood shop is an inspiring place. With the traditional sounds and smells of a woodworker’s studio - the hum of lively voices and the smell of sawdust- it evokes an era of handcrafted homes when patience, personal effort and individual responsibility were the prerequisites of quality. Experience counted for a lot in those days and skill and enthusiasm comprised two sides of the same coin.
We feel fortunate to have a shop-crew so closely aligned with these traditional values yet so capable of redefining their profession in their own century. These individuals have the confidence and pluck to stretch themselves, their projects and their tools beyond expected limits.
In tandem with our links to the past, modern safety and recycling systems and wondrous state-of-the-art machinery characterize the Payne/Bouchier shop. New, computerized equipment has infused the work with its possibilities and harnessed the considerable imaginations of our inventive team. From the grandest of staircases to bathroom vanities, excellence is our goal.
